That’s a good question.
What is the “must have” HSE certificate in North America to be considered an HSE Professional. In the Middle East / Europe and Asia its the NEBOSH IGC
CorporateHSEQManagerKeymasterEveryone refers to Alcoa’s Paul O’Neill story, like its the only story on safety leadership.
Does anyone else know of any other stories about safety leadership?
CorporateHSEQManagerKeymasterBut that’s the point @HSEguy, if you are a transformational leader that pays no attention to safety, then are you really a leader?
Shouldn’t a leader have all leadership qualities, and if they miss any, well then they aren’t really a leader
CorporateHSEQManagerKeymasterI would find other ways for awareness. Celebrate a construction milestone if it was done safely or something like that
CorporateHSEQManagerKeymasterYeah that’s exactly what I meant, it just makes our role less serious when we bring people for balloons and cake
CorporateHSEQManagerKeymasteralright so this is getting more confusing than I thought
CorporateHSEQManagerKeymasterOk so you do have construction experience, that’s good meaning you wont be starting from scratch. I say go for it, will be a bit frustrating as your role is now more of identifying issues but not necessarily having the ability to action them
CorporateHSEQManagerKeymasterGood question, both are deviations from a requirement, so officially both are nonconformities. But we usually give something an NCR if it is a bit more serious, and you want a full blown corrective action where an observation you can get away with just a correction
CorporateHSEQManagerKeymasterOh don’t get me started! I really do hate million-manhour celebrations and what they stand for. All they do is encourage statistic manipulation and demeans the HSE role
CorporateHSEQManagerKeymasterHey Noobilator, transitioning from what if I may ask
